Where: START at Giddy Up Folsom. CLEAN from Verger Rd. on Hwy 25 – Rosewood Dr. on Hwy 25

Objective: With the help of the community, through business sponsorships and physical participation,
Giddy Up Folsom hosts a successful and safe mission to “Clean Up on Hwy 25”.
Target: 50 volunteers sign up in advance
Plan: On Saturday, April 5th members of the community meet at Giddy Up Folsom to “Clean Up on
Hwy 25”. Participants are asked to sign up in advance, online or in the café, as a team of up to 6.
Individual sign-ups can opt to be placed within a random small group determined on the day of the event.

Participants will check in between 8 – 8:30 am behind the deck of Giddy Up Folsom in an outdoor area
called “The Paddock”. At the point of check-in, volunteers receive a gift bag with incentives from local
businesses and sponsors. Volunteers are notified with a map of their appointed route and drop-off points to pile collected trash for pick-up.

A safety briefing will take place prior to starting clean up along the highway.

Courtesy of Keep St. Tammany Beautiful, volunteers are provided safety vests, grabbers, gloves, and
trash bags. Vests and grabbers are asked to be returned at the end of the day.
The 4 territories are as follows…
1. East Side, Southbound from Verger Rd (Green)
Midway Point: Salvage Store
2. West Side, Southbound from Verger Rd (Blue)
Midway Point: Core Feed
3. East Side, Northbound from Rosewood Dr (Black)
Midway Point: Folsom Elementary
4. West Side, Northbound from Rosewood Dr (Red)

Midway Point: Main’s Market
Midway Points (4) = Drop Off/Pick-Up Sites
– Bagged trash collected by volunteers can be placed at these
locations for pickup by flatbed trailer as they walk their
territories.

Folsom Police presence will help ensure the safety of participants by
signaling to oncoming traffic. St. Tammany Parish will also supply a
traffic truck to place at the Hwy 40 intersection.

Around 11:00 am a flatbed trailer provided by Giddy Up Folsom goes around to the four Midway Points
to load garbage onto to flatbed. Garbage will then be transferred from the flatbed to the available on-site
dumpster at Giddy Up Folsom. Alternatively, if the onsite dumpster is full, trucks provided by Keep St.
Tammany Beautiful can collect trash on Monday.

At noon, participants return to the meeting place of Giddy Up Folsom’s, The Paddock, for a
complimentary lunch. Participants should disband after their meal, around 12:30-1 pm. END.
